The Bitcoin mining company is shifting its business from BTC mining to AI data center operations and is expanding infrastructure investment through the sale of its holdings. Visa announced the addition of stablecoin settlement and payout capabilities to its Visa Direct real-time payments network through a partnership with on-chain infrastructure platform Zero Hash. The partnership will allow businesses using Visa Direct to prefund accounts with stablecoins and make payouts through Zero Hash’s infrastructure. Visa Direct connects more than 18 billion accounts, digital wallets and other endpoints across more than 195 countries and territories worldwide.

World Chain, World’s Optimism-based layer-2 network, plans to become the first layer-2 to introduce block access list technology on its mainnet on Aug. 17, according to The Block. The network said it will stream block access lists every 200 milliseconds within its Flashblock architecture. The technology will be implemented through EIP-7928 and can enable processing capacity of up to one gigagas per second, reducing latency and significantly improving transaction throughput.

Mastercard said it will launch a pilot of Mastercard Crypto Credential for cross-border stablecoin payments with global liquidity network Borderless.xyz, according to The Block. The Crypto Credential is a standardized verification framework that can be used to verify blockchain transaction participants and support regulatory compliance and risk management. Infinia, Walapay and Koywe are participating in the pilot.

The Ethereum Foundation said it will provide a grant through its Trillion Dollar Security (1TS) initiative to support development of WEBCAT by the Freedom of the Press Foundation. The funding is intended to introduce front-end verification features for Ethereum wallets and dapps. WEBCAT is an open-source tool that lets browsers verify whether code served by a website matches the code published by the developer.

Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire said the crypto market is moving away from speculative trading toward a structure centered on trading tokenized assets. Speaking on Circle’s earnings call, Allaire reproduced the English phrase "open market" in describing a transition from a legacy structure focused on speculative trading to a stage in which the market supports tokenized versions of a range of assets, including stocks and commodities. He added Circle supports that shift through stablecoins and on-chain technology. Circle previously posted second-quarter revenue of $701 million and adjusted EBITDA of $143 million.

Yellow Card, a crypto payment infrastructure company focused on Africa, announced it raised $40 million from SC Ventures, Polychain and Blockchain Capital. Total funding has now surpassed $120 million, while the company’s valuation is said to be above $200 million. U.S. private-sector employment rose by 44,000 in July, below the 68,000 market forecast, according to ADP’s National Employment Report. The ADP nonfarm employment figure is released ahead of the U.S. Labor Department’s payrolls data and is calculated based on more than 500,000 companies using ADP’s payroll management services. By contrast, the U.S. Labor Department’s nonfarm payrolls report is the official gauge and includes changes in government employment. The nonfarm employment data is one of the indicators the U.S. Federal Reserve considers in interest-rate decisions. Stronger employment data can support rate hikes or a hold to prevent overheating, while weaker data can support rate cuts to boost the economy.

Invest America is a child investment support program introduced by the Trump administration to help future generations build assets. China’s Ministry of Commerce announced sanctions on six companies, including Nasdaq-listed BNB Plus (BNBX), which has been strategically accumulating BNB. BNB Plus changed its name on Nov. 13 last year and shifted into a BNB accumulation company, or DAT, but its stock has fallen 92% this year. As a result, the company was delisted from Nasdaq on July 13 and is now traded only on the QTCQB over-the-counter market. Its current share price is around $0.11.

Bitcoin network activity has surged as users move holdings to exchanges or other wallets in the aftermath of the Coldcard hardware wallet hack. CoinDesk reported, citing Blockchain.com data, that the number of unconfirmed transactions in the Bitcoin mempool reached 89,031, the highest since February 2025. Active addresses also climbed to a three-month high of 712,000, while whale transfers rose to a five-month high of 61,800. More than $100 million worth of BTC was said to have been stolen in the Coldcard hack, and Galaxy Research estimated losses could reach as much as 2,055 BTC.

Binance affiliates have filed a $472.8 million damages lawsuit against the co-founders of stablecoin payments firm RedotPay, Bloomberg reported. According to Bloomberg, Binance-related entities including Nest Trading claim RedotPay founders Gao Zhangpeng, Chan Wa Choi and Yao Chao directed more than 470,000 Binance users to make bypass payments through RedotPay cards, causing losses. The claimed damages were set at $925 per customer. RedotPay denied the allegations and said it would respond through legal procedures.

S&P Global Ratings, part of global credit rating agency S&P, has assigned BlackRock’s tokenized money market fund BRSRV an AAAm rating, the highest principal stability rating, Cointelegraph reported. S&P said the fund showed strong credit quality in its investments and counterparties, an appropriate maturity structure, and a strong ability to maintain net asset value stability, while its tokenized structure also has controls in place to mitigate cyberattack, smart contract, and blockchain network risks.

USDC issuer Circle has disclosed the initial validator lineup for Arc, its proprietary blockchain, ahead of the mainnet launch scheduled for Sept. 16, local time. Dollar weakness and expectations for rate cuts could support gains in gold and Bitcoin, according to BIT, formerly Matrixport. BIT said from a technical perspective, gold may be entering a phase of forming a bottom. The firm added that while the market expects the Federal Reserve to raise rates around twice this year, there may be no rate hikes at all. If the U.S. dollar turns weaker, gold and BTC could rise alongside expectations for rate cuts, BIT said.

South Korea’s top two crypto exchanges, Upbit and Bithumb, newly listed 89 of the same digital assets on their KRW trading pairs over the past one year and seven months, accounting for 41% of the 217 total new listings across the two exchanges during that period, Digital Asset reported. The report said Upbit announced first and Bithumb followed in 42 cases, while Bithumb announced first and Upbit followed in 47 cases. The median lag for follow-on listings was about one hour for Bithumb and about 33 days for Upbit, indicating Bithumb, the No. 2 operator, was more aggressive in matching Upbit’s new listings.
